This extension spring (also called “Wynn Parry” or Capener splint) uses coil springs placed lateral to and in line with PIP joint. Curved proximal and distal supports distribute pressure evenly. Extension assistance is adjustable by altering distal strap. Patent #4,243,026.
Indications: PIP flexion tightness. Force: Full extension approx. 2.75 lbs. Note: This splint provides a uniform force throughout the range and offers a stronger spring tension at extended position than #501 or #602.
Sizing: Measure finger to be fitted from palmar crease to distal finger crease (finger extended).
