Training Pregnant Clients reviews the physical activity-related recommendations put forth by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and what they mean for personal trainers. The DVD is designed to help personal trainers feel confident in working with pregnant women throughout the forty weeks of their pregnancy, when designing a personal training program for them and making the necessary modifications in their exercise regimen as their pregnancy progresses. Among the topics covered: pelvic floor integrity and exercises, such as Kegel progressions, core stabilization to help accommodate the growing fetus and uterus, posture exercises to address potential muscle imbalances, potential joint laxity and implications for the training program, potential abdominal separation and necessary precautions, and basics of postpartum guidelines.
