About the Author
Wes Hobson
is one of the top triathletes in the United States and has been for the
past decade, ranking in the U.S. top five at the Olympic distance since
1990. A member of the U.S. national team from 1997 to 1999, he was the
bronze medalist at the 2000 ITU North American championships. He has
won more than 30 triathlons in his professional career, including the
1999 Escape From Alcatraz triathlon. A graduate of DePauw University
with a degree in economics, Hobson and his wife Jennifer reside in
Boulder, Colorado.
Clark Campbell is the head mens and womens swimming coach at
the University of Evansville in Indiana. He spent seven years as a
professional triathlete. He was the 1986 national long Course Champion
and the runner-up in the United States Triathlon Series national
championship in 1990. He has been a collegiate swimming coach since
1992, including stops as an assistant coach at Kansas and Minnesota
before coaching at Evansville. Campbell holds a B.S. in exercise
science from the University of Kansas and an M.S. in physical
education/athletic coaching from West Virginia University. He and his
wife, Cassie, reside in Newburgh, Indiana.
A competitive age-group triathlete and race director,
Mike Vickers
owns Lawrence Triathlon, Inc., a sports management company that runs
the LMH Triathlon in Lawrence, Kansas, and the USAT national
championship in St. Joseph, Missouri. He and his wife, Caylen, live in
Lawrence, Kansas.
