The Ossur's (former Royce Medical) Gel Ankle Brace is an excellent item that combines gel and foam components for a comfortable fit around the ankle that is snug, comfortable and very supportive for everyday as well as sport activities. The gel insert can be frozen for cold therapy to reduce swelling or can be heated in a microwave for heat therapy to enhance the flow of blood to the ankle to enhance the recovery process after an ankle sprain.

This gel ankle brace resists medial/lateral ankle movement, yet allows normal ankle dorsiflexion/plantar flexion motion up and down. The low profile design allows this model to fit inside any size shoe with ease.

* The gel ankle brace inserts attach to the brace with velcro and can be placed in the freezer or the microwave to provide both cold/hot therapy. For cold therapy, put gel in the freezer for 30 minutes or longer. To heat, microwave gel at medium setting for up to 20 seconds.
