About the Author

Brook and Barbara Elliott are professional freelance writers specializing in travel and outdoor recreation. Their

Brook and Barbara have written about hiking, backpacking, camping, and wilderness exploration for publications ranging from Ladies’ Home Journal to Military Lifestyle; Camping & RV to Highways; Family Motor Coaching to Touring America; and Maiden Voyages to Fleetwood Lifestyle. Brook was formerly the hiking columnist for New York Outdoors, while Barbara served as the camping columnist for the same publication.

The husband and wife team are long-time residents of the Bluegrass State. They jointly write a monthly column, "On The Road", for Kentucky Living Magazine, which covers travel and outdoors in Kentucky; and Brook writes an outdoor column syndicated to several newspapers.
